Deep within man dwell those slumbering powers; powers that would astonish him, that he never dreamed of possessing; forces that would revolutionize his life if aroused and put into action. Orison Marden

When we chose to focus on what emotions we desire to experience, as opposed to, what we want to be, do or have materially, we instantly align heart and mind and create inner harmony, and we accomplish things with ease. We are in the zone.

The opposite however, is also true; when we choose to focus on what we don’t want to happen…What could go wrong or only on want we want materially, we create misalignment between heart and mind, which causes imbalance and internal conflict which we experience first as emotional discomfort but if not corrected we will eventually experience as physical dis-ease.

This inner state of harmony or conflict we experience as emotions and feelings, we project through our actions into external experiences. Our life experiences always reflect our inner state as created by our choice of focus.

Whenever we experience anger, worry, disappointments, frustration or any other (negative) unpleasant emotions it’s always the result of misalignment between heart and mind.

Again the opposite is equally true; whenever we experience peace, gratitude, joy, or love or any other (positive) pleasant emotions it’s always the result of alignment between heart and mind.

So, how do we realign?

How do we use our focus to create more of the emotions we desire?

How do we restore harmony and balance in all areas of our lives?

How do we use our emotions as an action guide for creating more of the experiences we desire?

It seems reasonable to the Mind to begin at the beginning, so we start by choosing our focus, but the Heart must be evenly yoked if we are to create alignment, so must also choose to feel all of our emotions and judge them not. Once we have clarified our focus and we have unified our emotions we are ready to generate actions from a place of balance, which means we will be able to experience all that we desire with ease.

Well, there you have it… a short version of how we can use our focus and emotional feedback to Elevate our life experience to the level of wholeness or oneness.

You may or may not agree, but if you can just image how simple your life could be if it’s indeed as simple as we’ve presented.

Can you imagine how great this new life of co-creating by using your heart and mind would feel?

Can you image the Love, Joy and Gratitude you’d experience in each and every moment?

All meaningful and lasting change starts first in your imagination and then works its way out. Imagination is more important than knowledge. – Albert Einstein

If you can even image it… then for just this one moment at least you and I are lifted together to a higher place which exists within us… and as a result WE ARE ETERNALLY ONE!

With January nearing it’s end and Valentine’s Day, rapidly approaching, we would like to share some of our favorite romantic flirting tips with you.

But first we want to tell you about this powerful new technique that almost no one knows about. It’s about attracting a new romantic partner, or bringing back the closeness and passion in dying relationships… It is now well-known that people communicate with each other on a subconscious level constantly. We are constantly communicating with and affecting each other, whether we realize it or not…

Maybe you’re having problems ‘getting noticed’ by new potential partners?

Maybe you’ve lost that connection or spark with your old partner? …Like Carrie,  before she used the Contact program…

“We are closer now than we have been in years The Contact Program has worked very well for me! And it worked faster than I expected as well. I used it for improving my relationship with my husband of 11 years, and immediately I noticed him responding to me differently. We were in a ‘rut’ so to speak and I wanted to bring back the connection and spice to our marriage. I worked with the visualizations and in some cases actually noticed he would do or say something, just as I had visualized it. That was huge confirmation for me. Our relationship is very strong and we are closer now than we have been in years. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking to effect their relationship. You will be pleasantly surprised.”

Carrie, USA

It is rather difficult to be romantic without first flirting.

What exactly is flirting and how can you adapt some flirting into your own romantic moods and play? To begin, you don’t want to be too aggressive. Start with very friendly gestures and once you have gotten those moves down, and then go for the romantic flirting!

Flirting is a frame of mind:

• Be self-confident and do not be afraid to take risks.
• Be enthusiastic about romance and be positive!

Start a sexy conversation:

• Start with a simple, opening line by saying hello.
• Talk about anything at all, whatever will get the romance going.

Enjoy yourself and have fun:
• Be playful, light-hearted and above all, be spontaneous.
• Show that you can be vulnerable.

Make good use of all props:

• Always use a prop.
• Props will get the conversation started naturally. They encourage conversation and others will want to start talking to you.
• Great props are: pets, children, great jewelry, a wonderful scent, a sweatshirt with your favorite sports team’s emblem, an interesting book or magazine.

Play host:

• Take the lead by taking on the role of host.
• Do not be the passive person in waiting, but rather the lead.

Introduce yourself first:

• Move closer to the person you want to meet and introduce yourself confidently!

Listen-up:

• Everyone loves to be heard and when you are a good listener your partner will be drawn to you.

Make bold eye contact:

• Look your partner in the eye gently (no more than 2-4 seconds) and then look away. You don’t want to stare!

Pay a genuine compliment:

• Your partner will be pleased and will warm up to you more. Show a beautiful smile:
• You will look so much more approachable. Everyone is attracted to a genuine and heartfelt, smile.

So there you go! These are all ground-breakers when wanting to approach someone with romance. We must always be mindful of the fundamentals. When we just dive right in, unexpected, we can turn our loved one off.

Go slow, a step at a time and feeling confident, approach with your best romance moves.

The American writer Henry David Thoreau once said:

“I find it wholesome to be alone the greater part of the time. To be in company even with the best of friends is soon wearisome and dissipating. I love to be alone. I never found the companion that was as companionable as solitude.”

Some would probably comment “what a sad man!” but if you stop and think about it, Thoreau is right. There are times that you really wish everyone would just fade away and leave you alone.

Is it right to crave solitude some times? The answer is a resounding YES.

In fact, it should be a requirement to balance out your life.

Being alone rests your soul from the constant need to interact. It frees you from the obligations that rule social interaction. You can be quiet and not worry that you’re being rude. You can eat what you want; do what you want to do; walk as fast or as slow as you want without having to think of your companion’s opinion.

Wouldn’t it be great to have only your own self to deal with?

Being alone helps you focus.

This is perfect time to talk to yourself – look back on the triumphs and tears; deal with the present; and dream of the future.  You can come up with plans on what you’d like to do. Get the house in order.Go to places you’ve always planned to visit. Start that book you’ve been planning to write forever.

You cannot be lonely if you like the person you’re alone with.
Wayne Dyer

Make decisions on issues as complicated as where to get your kid’s college tuition; to something as simple as what color the new wallpaper should be.  The freedom of your own choice is beyond exciting!

Being alone allows you to feed the inner YOU.

Whether the inner you wants triple chocolate with double dutch ice cream or to be lost in the world of the latest blockbuster movie, the important thing is – it’s YOU time.

Solitude gives you time to pamper your spirit and ask how it’s doing. Does it still feel loved? Or have you forgotten how it wants to commune with a Higher Spirit too?

Being alone also makes you think hard and see if you like who or what you’ve become.  Imagine the inner YOU as a different person – would you be worth knowing? Would you be happy spending time with this imaginary person? If  you can answer yes, then you are complete in every way that counts.

You should be your own best friend.

So spend time with this friend and enjoy being alone –it’s a guarantee that you’ll never be lonely.

Music’s Healing Power — The Perfect Therapy

You’re about to be wheeled in for surgery. You’re very nervous, and nothing anyone says is going to make you feel better. Finally, someone turns on some incredibly soothing music. You finally feel the peace wash over you and you know everything is going to be okay. Is it just a feeling, or does music actually have any
influence over your health?

The evidence is stacked up strongly in favor of music’s healing
power!
A positive link has been found for those suffering from things like autism, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Tourette’s.

Why Does Music Have a Healing Effect?

music=healthThere are neuroscientists who are working to discover exactly why music has healing powers.

After all, it’s pretty amazing that it can stimulate certain areas of the brain, speed healing, and decrease anxiety and increase optimism.

There are different components to music that can have an effect. Pitch, harmony, frequency, melody, and rhythm all effect the brain in different ways. We know that some of the brain locations are involved in helping to heal and soothe the body as well.

The brain can be taught and stimulated to perform better — and it seems that music is the
perfect vehicle to do that.

Musical Therapy

There are around 5,000 registered musical therapists in the United States. Their services are used to soothe people, stimulate recovery, and more. As we now know from scientific evidence, music has an actual physical effect on the body as well.

What Can Music Heal?

Music can be beneficial in just about every circumstance. However, scientists are looking into some specific uses where it has been found to be particularly effective.

Those who have had strokes often have trouble with their speech. It’s thought that the act of
singing or chanting can increase their fluency! It also has a strong effect on optimism and a positive outcome in
recovery overall.

In fact, the same effect has been seen with those who stutter. Music and singing can completely take the stutter away for a time. This is a great relief and a definite boost for someone who is tired of stuttering.

Parkinson’s disease affects movement. The rhythm of music can be a great help because it can stimulate the brain to allow more movement. It can help a person with Parkinson’s disease to move smoothly and vibrantly!

Memory is one of the biggest areas of study for music’s healing power. Research in the area of Alzheimer’s disease has been particularly promising. While it doesn’t take away or lessen the disease, it can help to stimulate memories for the patient.

It’s apparent that music has a special place in both our hearts and our minds, since even those who have nearly completely lost touch with reality can recognize and sing songs they have loved throughout their life.

Music has also been tested to be an amazing de-stressor. You’ve probably seen its effects yourself! You can come home and pop in your favorite CD at the end of the day and the worries that troubled you during the work hours instantly melt away.

The Science Behind Music’s Healing Power

However, there is science behind this and its healing power. Dr. Mike Miller of the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, set out to study this.

He used high-tech imaging to measure blood vessel size while listening to music. What he found was that the lining of the blood vessel relaxed and opened up. It also produced chemicals that help protect the heart.

There is a catch here. It has to be music the person enjoys! If they do not, the vessels close up. This is a stress response — the opposite of what we want.

Music can heal indirectly as well. You see, stress can have terrible effects on the body and mind long term. It can cause the blood vessels to become rigid, which does not allow the blood to flow freely. Arteries can harden as well. Blood pressure can rise overall. All of this is a recipe for heart attack and stroke!

Stress has a negative effect on the immune system as well. People who are stressed tend to get sick far more often. Those who are stressed often experience fertility and performance issues. Stress can even lead to anxiety and depression. It’s an all-around bad mixture for the body!

That’s why we see such positive effects from calm music. Music can make you feel great! When your mood improves, the stress gets chased away. It follows, then, that listening to music consistently can improve your health because it eliminates the factor of stress and its effects on the body and mind.

Hospitals Recognize Music’s Healing Power

Many hospitals and doctors are starting to recognize the wonderful healing effect music can have. They know that it can reduce stress and anxiety. It can help improve the recovery period — and it’s incredibly cost effective.

You can try this as well! There are so many ways you can integrate music into your daily life. Whether you have a condition you feel could be helped by music or not, music can positively affect your mood and overall health.

Researchers do note that you should change up the music you listen to. That way, it is kept fresh and alive, and the effects remain strong. You are now in a great position because you know that music can be so beneficial. If you should ever need surgery or to overcome an illness, you’ll be well aware of the amazing
benefits music can hold for you.

It’s a great thing that music’s healing power is not only being studied, but utilized. We’ve used music to heal since the beginning of time — it’s part of who we are. We will come to learn much, much more as scientists dedicate their time to this important area of study. Even more important, however, is that you make
music therapy a part of your everyday life.

Share it with those you love! If you know someone who is stressed or healing, the chances are high they could use some healing power. The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to the wonderful effects music can have on your body.

The Amazing Effects of Music on the Mind

What was the last song you listened to? There is a reason you were so drawn to listen to it. It might have put you in a great mood or eased your worry. It might have brought back memories from days gone
by.

Understanding the effects music can have on your mind can help you make the conscious decision to listen to music a part of your daily life for its incredibly beneficial effects!

brainmusicWhat Can Music Do for You?

Listening to music can help you remember
your first kiss. It can motivate you to keep on going. It can calm you down after a long, hard day. There are so many wonderful things music can do for you! It’s absolutely fascinating to understood why it has such an impact – and what you need to be doing to take advantage of that fact.

How Does Music Affect Our Body and Brain?

Music appears to be processed in the right hemisphere of the brain. The way we experience music also affects our nervous system.

There are different neurons that respond according to what kind of music is playing. Music can effect hormones, encourage the production of cortisol, testosterone, and oxytocin. Music can even trigger a release of endorphins.

Beyond the biology and the actual responses of your body, there are definite responses of the mind as well. You’re aware of how you feel when you listen to music, but how do you know that it’s actually having any sort of effect on you? There is scientific evidence of the way it can affect your mind! It’s clearly more than
just a suspicion – it’s fact!

The most famous experiment related to this is probably the one that was performed at the University of California at Irvine. College students were assigned to three different groups. The first group listened to Mozart’s sonata for Two Pianos in D Major. The second group listened to a relaxation tape. The third
group listened to nothing at all.

After listening, they took a Stanford-Beinet reasoning test. The results were clear – those who had listened to Mozart had improved scores!

Music Can Improve Memory

Therefore, it’s thought that music has the most effect on the part of the brain that deals with memory. Unfortunately, the effects were not found to be long-lasting. Still, there is nothing wrong with getting a consistent music boost to improve your memory, mood, and sense of well-being over all!

Interestingly enough, music even seems to have a positive effect on the memories of those who are suffering from Alzheimer’s. In some cases, music can help these people remember things and events they had long forgotten. This is an amazing gift for many Alzheimer’s patients!

Why Does This Work?

You might be wondering why this works the way it does. Dr. Alfred A Tomatis theorized that it’s because music (specifically that of Mozart) helps to retrain the brain, in a sense. The different frequencies can help to ‘exercise’ the brain and provide great benefits.

Many people use music to achieve different states of mind as well. Playing a cheerful song at the end of a long day can go a long way toward improving your mood. Playing mellowing music can help you get to sleep at night. Playing upbeat music can help you get into the right mood to go out and have fun with your friends.
Classical music is the most beloved among those who subscribe to musical therapy. It has a variety of positive uses, including increasing focus, and, as we discussed above, memory.

It’s all well and good to understand that music can have amazing effects on your life. However, it’s important to start making a conscious effort to include music every day. There are specific types of music that can help you achieve whatever state you might need to be in. You can become more creative, enter into a meditative state, relax – whatever you want!

The science is there, and you’ve seen it yourself. It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you are in your life right now, or what you want to achieve, the power of music can help you get there.

Long Term Effects

Many musical therapy experts recommend making music a part of your daily life, because its effects can improve with time. There is evidence that, over time, your language skills, creativity, happiness, and more, can improve with regular musical therapy.

There are even some incredible effects that can come along with playing a musical instrument, if you’re inclined to do that!

Whether you’re listening to music or playing it, you can consider it to be like exercise for the brain — only, much more pleasant! It will have great benefits right away and the benefits will only increase over time.

Sure, you might listen to music already, you might even find that you gravitate toward it. However, by seeking out specific types of music, you can see more desirable effects. By consistently seeking out the right kind of music, you can see incredible effects over time.

The great thing about this is that you can get started today. Music isn’t something that will take up your time — it’s something you can focus on or just have in the background. Having calming music playing more consistently will completely change your life for the better. Mind music is one of the easiest changes you can make for positive effects in your life!

The effects of music on the mind are absolutely incredible. Whether you listen to music for meditation, relaxing sounds, Mozart music, or something else altogether, there is something out there for you. There is a reason so many experts in the world practice and recommend music therapy — it’s because it is something
you truly can’t go wrong with.

Do what you can to start investigating its effects on your own life today. The music of Mozart is a great place to start. There are other options available, depending on what your goals are. Soon, you’ll start to gain an even deeper appreciation for all of the wonderful things music can bring into your life.

Don’t let your mind bully your body into believing it must carry the burden of its worries. ~Astrid Alauda

When your life seems out of control and you’ve got endless demands tugging at you from all directions, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, fatigued – and just plain stressed!

Believe it or not, balancing your life does not require massive changes.  You don’t have to quit your job, abandon your family and escape to a remote retreat in order to feel peaceful and happy.  In fact, true balance is something that starts within you first and foremost – no matter what else is happening in your outer life circumstances.

Below you’ll find three simple ways to begin building a greater sense of inner peace and harmony:

1)  Quiet time.

One of the first things we tend to sacrifice when we’re busy is our personal time.  Instead we devote all of our energy and attention to caring for others, multitasking, meeting responsibilities and “being productive.”  Over time this depletes our energy and we begin to feel more and more burdened by our responsibilities.

To live a more balanced life, quiet time to yourself is CRUCIAL.  You may believe that you don’t have any time available for yourself, but something amazing happens when you consistently MAKE time; you find yourself feeling happier and more energetic, your focus improves – and you still get plenty done!  Just a few minutes spent sitting quietly in meditation can do wonders in transforming stress into peace and happiness.

2)  Self-care.

Beyond making time for things you enjoy, there are other ways to nurture and love yourself on a daily basis.  Getting a full 8 hours of sleep (or as much as you personally need) is a great start, as well as eating nutritious food, exercising daily and speaking kindly to yourself.

Have you ever noticed that when you’re really tired or stressed, even the smallest problem can seem like a nightmare?  On the other hand, when you’re feeling well-rested and centered, you’re much better able to handle upsets.  Caring for yourself is one sure way to consistently replenish your energy, inner peace and joy – which means you’ll have the strength to handle whatever comes your way.

3)  Flexibility.

Did you know that one of the biggest causes of stress is rigid expectations?  We all do it from time to time; get a mental picture of how our lives “should be” – and get really annoyed when our outer circumstances don’t cooperate!  One of the biggest gifts you can give yourself is a flexible state of mind.  In other words, learn how to detach from expectations and go with the flow.

When you have a flexible mind-set, you’re able to deal with crises and problems much more easily because you’re not working against a preconceived notion of how things “should be”.  You’re able to tap into your creative problem-solving skills and move through challenges without all the drama and frustration.  Be like the Palm tree that bends with the breeze – and you’re much less likely to break!

These inner changes can make a dramatic difference in your state of well-being, but you may also want to examine your outer life circumstances and see if there are other small changes you can make to help support your inner work.

For example, you might choose to let go of certain obligations that are no longer meaningful or enjoyable to you.  Just because you agreed to host weekly meetings for a support group three years ago doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it forever – especially if it’s become a drain on your time and energy!

Be willing to let go of activities that no longer complement the lifestyle you desire, and you’ll create a space for greater fulfillment, joy and peace. Remember it’s your life and only you can live it fully. When you follow these simply steps, you’ll be amazed at how rewarding every event becomes. then you be living Your Elevated Life.

Today I am celebrating my wedding anniversary…the Love that I have in my Heart for my husband goes far beyond any words that I might use. The Beloved brought us together in my front yard one day and sprinkled this amazing “Love Energy” in the air and all of the sudden I was crying…I told my husband that I had no idea what had just happened as I was very happy and didn’t understand why I was crying all of the sudden…he just smiled that beautiful, gorgeous smile of his and said “no worries”…you see, he knew exactly what had happened. We have continued to be blessed and we are living our dreams in the arms of each other…this beautiful poem by by Jacqueline M. Griffiths is the perfect poem to present  in Honor of my Husband…Happy Anniversary…

The strength of a man isn’t seen in the width of his shoulders.
It’s seen in the width of his arms that circle you..The strength of a man isn’t in the deep tone of his voice.
It’s in the gentle words he whispers…

The strength of a man isn’t how many buddies he has.
It’s how good a buddy he is with his kids…

The strength of a man isn’t in how respected he is at work.
It’s in how respected he is at home…

The strength of a man isn’t in how hard he hits.
It’s in how tender he touches…

The strength of a man isn’t in the hair on his chest.
It’s in his Heart, that lies within his chest…

The strength of a man isn’t how many women he’s loved.
It’s in can he be true to one woman…

The strength of a man isn’t in the weight he can lift.
It’s in the burdens he can carry…

Thank you My Loving Husband for all of the Happiness and Unconditional Love that you give…I will love you always…Namaste’

Dark, gourmet chocolate is indeed a beloved to our taste buds…but do you know why?
From Science Daily is this article about the science of taste and smell! Truly fascinating – here’s more from the article on ScienceDaily.com:

“…Most people don’t realize that most of what we call taste — enjoying a meal or a fine wine — is actually smell,” Karen Kalumuck, a biologist at San Francisco’s Exploratorium, tells DBIS.
Kalumuck says 75 percent of what we call taste is due to what we smell. “Think about when you’ve a cold. You’ve got this stuffed up nose. I mean, what did things taste like? Not so great,” she tells DBIS. “That’s really because we can’t have the odorant molecules meet up with the sensory receptors in the nose and transmit that information to the brain.”

You can see how the nose and the mouth work together if you pinch your nose and eat a piece of candy, then unplug your nose while it’s still in your mouth.
The nose has 5 million odor receptors that can detect 10,000 unique odors. On the tongue, there are taste buds. Inside each bud could be 50 to 100 taste receptor cells. Each receptor cell detects one of five different types of taste, sweet, sour, bitter, salty and umami.

What’s umami? It detects the amino acid glutamate and was added to the list in 2000.
“Most … have probably experienced glutamate in the form of MSG,” Kalumuck says.
Also, spicy foods are not part of our taste or smell receptors … They stimulate our pain receptors. So people who love spicy have a high tolerance for pain! And taste is all genetic! Your genes determine the type and number of sensors you have, so you can blame mom or dad if you don’t like your food.
Kalumuck says you can learn to enjoy foods that might — at first bite — taste unpleasant.”
