Posts tagged ‘Affirmations’

These days you can hardly go through any articles, books, DVDs, movies, films, documentaries with regard to self-improvement or self-help without coming across at least one mentioning of some ‘Universal Law’.

Suddenly, there appears to be a Universal Law for anything. Like we haven’t got enough Laws to deal with already!

There is truth to these ‘Universal Laws’, but in most cases, a little nuance is in place. Please read along, as the remainder of this article will clear it all up.

There are Universal Laws that guide your life behind the scenes of ‘physical reality’. These are actually rather ‘universal principles of life’. That would be a more appropriate qualification.

However, the qualification of ‘Universal Law’ has taken on a life of its own. The word ‘Law’ appears to be a magic word… Almost a magic wand that casts a spell on anyone who reads it that puts them in a hypnotized state thinking that what it says must be true. After all, it’s a ‘Law’ isn’t it? A ‘Law’ is always right. No more thinking required.

Today, subjects like the ‘Law of Attraction’ are at an all-time high of popularity. We’ve got the movie ‘The Secret’ and a whole big bunch of people trying to leverage on it by proclaiming themselves as ‘experts in the field of the Law of Attraction’, or ‘masters of attraction. Yes, there’s that magic word (wand) again.

And simply because people seem to like ‘Universal Laws’, every now and then a new ‘Universal Law’ makes its entrance. People come up with new ‘Universal Laws’ all the time. And likewise, new ‘experts on the Law of Attraction’ and ‘masters of attraction’ proclaim themselves every day.

Yet despite so many people having seen the movie ‘The Secret’ and knowing about the Law of Attraction, there is only a very, very small number of people who are actually living the life of their dreams, or ‘attracting their desires’, or ‘manifesting their dreams’. Yes those are some other ‘magic words’ from today’s common terminology.

How come? How come, with all that knowledge, with all those ‘Universal Laws’ already written and told about, and with all those new ‘Universal Laws’, ‘Spiritual Laws of the Universe’, ‘Subsidiary Laws’ and so on coming about each and every day on the Internet and elsewhere… How come with all the people buying those books, DVDs, movies, films, documentaries, and so on, are still not ‘attracting their desires’ or ‘manifesting their dreams’?

I’ll tell you why. Most people have heard something about it, but have no real knowledge about the matter. They are aware of the fact that there are ‘Universal Laws’, or rather ‘universal principles of life’ that work behind the scenes and guide the courses of their lives.

However, most people have lost track, because so many who think they know what they’re talking about (while they don’t) come up with these new ‘Universal Laws’ all the time. There may be some truth to all these different ‘Universal Laws’. But what they really do for genuine seekers for the truth like yourself is not much more than making things way too difficult and complex to apply.

And if that isn’t enough already, often another big problem comes up when you start reading about the ‘Law of Attraction’ and the ‘Laws of the Universe’. The ‘experts’ who speak or write about them tend to do so in such an overly symbolic fashion, that few well-thinking people can make any practical sense of it. What you find is nothing but ‘enigmas wrapped in riddles’.

Listen; there are universal principles of life. ‘Universal Laws’ if you will. However, when it comes to applying them to your advantage, we are in desperate need for some clarity.

Let me show you what I mean. I can come up with hundreds of ‘Universal Laws’ if I want.

Here are a couple of them…

  • Introducing the Universal Law of Ping Pong

It says you have to use ping pong balls if you want to play table tennis.

  • Introducing the Universal Law of Rain

It says that when it rains, things get wet.

Disappointing, eh? But they did sound interesting at first, right?

See what’s happening here?

The mere qualification of ‘Universal Law’ makes the statement sound interesting already, while the true deeper meaning of the ‘Universal Law’ is nothing more than a standard, blindingly obvious platitude.

So let me give you another Universal Law right now, to satisfy your probably insatiable need (or so you may think) for knowledge of all ‘Universal Laws’ to improve your life, ‘attract your desires’, and ‘manifest your dreams’ once and for all:

Introducing the Universal Law of Bollocks

It says that it’s all bollocks.

That’s right, it’s all bollocks. Bollocks! There are universal principles guiding your life. If you want, you can call them ‘Universal Laws’. I’ve done so in my books and articles, because that’s what people are looking for these days. If I would apply other terminology, people would never even be looking at it. Simply because they think they need ‘Laws’.

But it’s all bollocks, because before this whole game we call ‘human life’ started, we didn’t get an instruction manual on how life was supposed to be lived. We didn’t get a Code of Law full of ‘thou shalt not’s’. The purpose of the whole thing was to find out the universal principles and realize that through applying these principles, YOU can have full control over whatever it is you want to create. The purpose of the whole thing was to find out that the world ‘outside’ is only a mirror showing what’s going on ‘inside’. All this time, the whole thing has been about finding out that you create your reality experience yourself.

Yes, that’s right, you ‘create’, which is much more than ‘attracting’. But that’s something you’ll discover as you get more experienced in the conscious living of your life and in the engineering your own success by applying the true and simple universal principles of life.  Or yes, ‘Laws’ if you will.

What you call ‘good’ and ‘bad’ are qualifications of your own. You are the one who deems things to be ‘good’ or ‘bad’. That’s merely a judgment from your individual perspective. When you’re not satisfied with your reality experience, you need to create something else that you are satisfied with.

For many, this is where the Law of Attraction comes in. According to most, this one states that what you focus your thoughts on becomes your reality. There’s truth to this statement, but there’s more to the story. Positive thinking and visualizing aren’t going to cut it.

There are certain boundary conditions to take into account, certain ‘universal principles of life’. Without attending to these conditions, your attraction efforts will be sabotaged. And this is exactly what most people who have seen ‘The Secret’ and have tried to put the ‘Law of Attraction’ into practice are experiencing.

But the last thing you need are instructions that are either overly symbolic, or too complex to apply. What you want is to keep things simple and straightforward. Or else you may get lost in the details. You want just enough straightforward knowledge for simple application of the principles, while still having a total view on the big picture that is comprehensive enough to not forget about any universal principle or Law for that matter.

If you want to make life simple for yourself, to start pulling the right strings at once to create the life and destiny of your dreams, then don’t waste another second on trying to find out every small, detailed, insignificant ‘Universal Law’ someone came up with today. You’ll be like a cat chasing its own tail: a never-ending story that leaves you exhausted and depressed.

Neither should you merely think positive thoughts and then wait for things to happen. There’s a little more to it. Just a little, nothing complex, but still extremely important.

Just keep it simple.

There are 6 main Universal Principles (or Laws) that cover all universal principles automatically. Attend to them all, which is a simple thing to do without much effort required, and you’ll be living more than your dreams before you can even consciously realize you created such an incredible experience!

Keep it straightforward and easy-to-apply. The game of life wasn’t intended to be complex and difficult. The game was supposed to be simple and easy, and most of all FUN!   And there’s a simple road to it, and it’s just a small decision away.   Welcome to the Revolution.

What…  You mean haven’t heard about the Revolution??  More free information on the Great Revolution, and on the ‘universal principles of life’  (the true ‘Universal Laws’) can be found at http://www.revolutionizaffiliates.com/go.php?a=1234&p=17.

=========================================

Nicholas P. Kidd and Henk J.M. Schram are the instigators of the alleged ‘Great Revolution’, which provides the members with truthful instructions regarding the universal principles of life.

The Revolution is receiving increasingly widespread attention for its straightforward explanations and instructions with regard to complex issues, which are made understandable for people from all walks of life. In essence, the true secrets of the ‘Law of Attraction’ and the other ‘Universal Laws’ are explained in much clearer and practical ways than the ‘enigmas wrapped in riddles’ that usually characterize the descriptions of the Law of Attraction and its application.

Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation. ~Brian Tracy

This is an antidote to victimization. It establishes that you are seen and provided for.

The more you notice the truth of this principle, the less you will believe that you are a victim.

Looking around, it’s obvious that life is orderly. A bee flies from flower to flower, eating and pollinating in accordance with a magnificent, ordered scheme.

Millions of years of evolution have exquisitely matched bee and flower so that neither can exist without the other.

Why, then, do we believe that our own lives can’t be effortlessly sustained?

One major obstacle is that we see ourselves as victim. Our bodies are subject to aging and death. Accidents are unavoidable. Catastrophe and disaster looms just around the corner, controlled by a whimsical destiny. And simply imagining the terrible things that can happen to you brings as much suffering as the events themselves.

Being a victim is the logical result of being in constant danger. If God sustains us, then surely he must reverse this whole scheme of random accidents that puts everyone in peril.  This is a tricky point, however, because we are also surrounded by abundance in Nature.

Optimists point to our green earth overflowing with life, nourishment, and beauty.

However, can a loving God really supply us with life’s good things one day and pain the next?  Most people who feel grateful to God tend to deny that he is also responsible for disease, calamity, and death. Yet an all-knowing, all-powerful deity can’t be responsible for only part of what goes on. Either he sustains everything or nothing.

Gratitude helps you to grow and expand; gratitude brings joy and laughter into your life and into the lives of all those around you. ~Eileen Caddy

The way to escape from living under a God who brings pleasure one day and pain the next is to realize that God isn’t a person.

We only call God “he” because our minds resist thinking of God as a total abstraction.

In truth, being total, God has to be abstract. You can’t wrap your mind around the All. Instead, we wrap our minds around the things we notice, and choose to believe in.

To the extent that you notice God in your life, acknowledge him with gratitude. God doesn’t need to be thanked—after all; he already has everything, including thanks.

But by choosing gratitude you are selecting a benevolent aspect of the All on which you want to focus. The purpose of gratitude is to connect you to a higher vision of life.

Whatever you pay attention to will grow.

If you pay attention to those aspects of God that demonstrate love, truth, beauty, intelligence, order, and spiritual evolution, those aspects will begin to expand in your life.

Bit by bit, like a mosaic, disparate fragments of grace will merge to form a complete picture. Eventually this picture will replace the more threatening one you have carried around inside you since infancy.

The external world claims to be real, but it, too, is an image created in consciousness and projected outward. Once you realize that you alone are the projector of reality, you will no longer be dominated by external events. You will correct the mistake that lies at the very root of victimization: a belief that the movie controls you, instead of the other way around.

Procrastination is opportunity’s assassin.  ~Victor Kiam

People get stuck in a lifestyle of procrastination because they believe their own excuses for not taking action.

Procrastination is the main reason that people fail to live richer and more fulfilling lives. If you’re stuck in a rut of continual procrastination, make up your mind to stop making excuses.

If you’ve been making excuses for putting things off, here’s how to take charge of your life.

First, think about all the things you’ve been postponing-at work, at home, in your personal relationships, or for your personal development.

Make a list. Now choose one thing on that list that you can do something about today.

Write down every excuse you’ve given yourself for not having done anything about it yet. Ask yourself if you have considered all the consequences of your procrastination in this area.

Do you want to live with them?

Do you have a legitimate reason for postponing this job?

You have to be honest about this for it to work.

Forget about what other people think; look in the mirror and ask the hard questions. If you have a legitimate reason for delaying action in this area, move on to another item on the list. Find something that you can make happen today, simply by deciding to make it happen.

Now do it. When you’ve completed this task successfully, your satisfaction will motivate you to repeat this process with another item on your list.

Successful people know that their accomplishments depend on two things: taking action and staying focused on their goals. People who are successful in any business or profession have an ability to make things happen. All successful people win the war against procrastination because they develop certain traits.

To defeat procrastination and get all you want out of life, we must:

  • Know what we want.
  • Take action.
  • Be willing to make mistakes and learn from them.
  • Stop making excuses!

Now go back to your list and choose another project.

Write down every excuse you’ve been giving yourself for not getting started, or for leaving it unfinished. Put as many things on the list as you can think of.

Now begin to eliminate one excuse at a time.

Ask yourself some hard questions: Why do I have to postpone this project? Is it necessary to go on postponing it? If Bill Gates were in my situation, would he postpone it? What will happen if I keep putting this off?  If I keep putting this off, when will I get it done?  Can I get started on it now?  What part of the job could I complete now?  If I postpone this job now, what other job will I tackle to make better use of my time?

As you eliminate your excuses, think of what you can do now, today to make this project happen, and do it.   Anne Frank wrote in her diary:

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

Make a decision to start improving your world today. Then take action adjust and take action again.  There you have it… a simple way to overcome procrastination today.  No more excuses, let’s get started right now by making our list.

Deep within man dwell those slumbering powers; powers that would astonish him, that he never dreamed of possessing; forces that would revolutionize his life if aroused and put into action. Orison Marden

When we chose to focus on what emotions we desire to experience, as opposed to, what we want to be, do or have materially, we instantly align heart and mind and create inner harmony, and we accomplish things with ease. We are in the zone.

The opposite however, is also true; when we choose to focus on what we don’t want to happen…What could go wrong or only on want we want materially, we create misalignment between heart and mind, which causes imbalance and internal conflict which we experience first as emotional discomfort but if not corrected we will eventually experience as physical dis-ease.

This inner state of harmony or conflict we experience as emotions and feelings, we project through our actions into external experiences. Our life experiences always reflect our inner state as created by our choice of focus.

Whenever we experience anger, worry, disappointments, frustration or any other (negative) unpleasant emotions it’s always the result of misalignment between heart and mind.

Again the opposite is equally true; whenever we experience peace, gratitude, joy, or love or any other (positive) pleasant emotions it’s always the result of alignment between heart and mind.

So, how do we realign?

How do we use our focus to create more of the emotions we desire?

How do we restore harmony and balance in all areas of our lives?

How do we use our emotions as an action guide for creating more of the experiences we desire?

It seems reasonable to the Mind to begin at the beginning, so we start by choosing our focus, but the Heart must be evenly yoked if we are to create alignment, so must also choose to feel all of our emotions and judge them not. Once we have clarified our focus and we have unified our emotions we are ready to generate actions from a place of balance, which means we will be able to experience all that we desire with ease.

Well, there you have it… a short version of how we can use our focus and emotional feedback to Elevate our life experience to the level of wholeness or oneness.

You may or may not agree, but if you can just image how simple your life could be if it’s indeed as simple as we’ve presented.

Can you imagine how great this new life of co-creating by using your heart and mind would feel?

Can you image the Love, Joy and Gratitude you’d experience in each and every moment?

All meaningful and lasting change starts first in your imagination and then works its way out. Imagination is more important than knowledge. – Albert Einstein

If you can even image it… then for just this one moment at least you and I are lifted together to a higher place which exists within us… and as a result WE ARE ETERNALLY ONE!

With January nearing it’s end and Valentine’s Day, rapidly approaching, we would like to share some of our favorite romantic flirting tips with you.

But first we want to tell you about this powerful new technique that almost no one knows about. It’s about attracting a new romantic partner, or bringing back the closeness and passion in dying relationships… It is now well-known that people communicate with each other on a subconscious level constantly. We are constantly communicating with and affecting each other, whether we realize it or not…

Maybe you’re having problems ‘getting noticed’ by new potential partners?

Maybe you’ve lost that connection or spark with your old partner? …Like Carrie,  before she used the Contact program…

“We are closer now than we have been in years The Contact Program has worked very well for me! And it worked faster than I expected as well. I used it for improving my relationship with my husband of 11 years, and immediately I noticed him responding to me differently. We were in a ‘rut’ so to speak and I wanted to bring back the connection and spice to our marriage. I worked with the visualizations and in some cases actually noticed he would do or say something, just as I had visualized it. That was huge confirmation for me. Our relationship is very strong and we are closer now than we have been in years. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking to effect their relationship. You will be pleasantly surprised.”

Carrie, USA

It is rather difficult to be romantic without first flirting.

What exactly is flirting and how can you adapt some flirting into your own romantic moods and play? To begin, you don’t want to be too aggressive. Start with very friendly gestures and once you have gotten those moves down, and then go for the romantic flirting!

Flirting is a frame of mind:

• Be self-confident and do not be afraid to take risks.
• Be enthusiastic about romance and be positive!

Start a sexy conversation:

• Start with a simple, opening line by saying hello.
• Talk about anything at all, whatever will get the romance going.

Enjoy yourself and have fun:
• Be playful, light-hearted and above all, be spontaneous.
• Show that you can be vulnerable.

Make good use of all props:

• Always use a prop.
• Props will get the conversation started naturally. They encourage conversation and others will want to start talking to you.
• Great props are: pets, children, great jewelry, a wonderful scent, a sweatshirt with your favorite sports team’s emblem, an interesting book or magazine.

Play host:

• Take the lead by taking on the role of host.
• Do not be the passive person in waiting, but rather the lead.

Introduce yourself first:

• Move closer to the person you want to meet and introduce yourself confidently!

Listen-up:

• Everyone loves to be heard and when you are a good listener your partner will be drawn to you.

Make bold eye contact:

• Look your partner in the eye gently (no more than 2-4 seconds) and then look away. You don’t want to stare!

Pay a genuine compliment:

• Your partner will be pleased and will warm up to you more. Show a beautiful smile:
• You will look so much more approachable. Everyone is attracted to a genuine and heartfelt, smile.

So there you go! These are all ground-breakers when wanting to approach someone with romance. We must always be mindful of the fundamentals. When we just dive right in, unexpected, we can turn our loved one off.

Go slow, a step at a time and feeling confident, approach with your best romance moves.

It is hard to contend against one’s heart’s desire; for whatever it wishes to have it buys at the cost of soul. ~Heraclitus~

How bad do you want something?  Can you almost taste and feel it?  Do you imagine that it’s already beside you, nestling comfortably under the crook of your arm?

If you wish for something that your heart desires, then think really hard… and it might just come true. If one adds concentration and feelings, it becomes a great creative power that makes things happen.

Creative visualization is not just about positive thinking. It is the ability to use one’s imagination to see things from greater heights, to see within one’s own mind the possibility to create an exciting reality.

We have all been using it in several different forms, usually subconsciously or unconsciously throughout our lives.

Many great people in the past have known about it, used it to their advantage and in the process, helped make the world a better place to live in.The brain is a powerful tool and should be utilized only for good.  Creative visualization can transform your life from dull to dazzling.

The idea will serve as a draft and the emotion provides the creative force of action which produces reality. By thinking of the good things that you want to happen, a positive stream of energy is created, surrounding you inch by inch. This positive energy stream first expands then solidifies and becomes your reality.

You can bring into your life more power, more wealth, more health, more happiness, and more joy by learning to contact and release the hidden power of your subconscious mind.- Dr. Joseph Murphy

There are many ways to go about this, but it is summarized in five easy to follow steps.

The first step is to relax. Sit or lie in any position that will make you comfortable. Breathe deeply and rhythmically.  Inhale and exhale slowly.  Picture your tense muscles slowly relaxing.  Un-knot those tight bunches and arrange them in an orderly fashion.

Second, get clear about what it is you really want, not just the image and sound but most importantly the feeling. Identify your ultimate energy state: what feeling will you have once you have created what you desire…will it be joy, relief, gratitude, loved, etc..

Third, set your highest ideal by picturing things that you want to happen. You are the master of your future so do this to the utmost of your ability.  Conjure pictures with distinct colors and vibrant hues. Don’t forget to add sounds and emotion. Focus on it as often as possible. Think , hear, feel it all throughout the day to galvanize the process.

Fourth, expect to succeed and take action. All of  the other steps, thinking hearing and feeling will amount to nothing more than mental masturbation unless you take action.

The final step, and perhaps the most difficult one, is giving your thought a positive energy. Only allow optimism and no other negative feeling to rule your life.  Negative energy will neutralize what you are trying to achieve.

There are several ways to use creative visualization in your life.

You may use it to relieve almost any physical problem. For instance, in cases of pain, where one could imagine themselves away from the hospital room, not in a drab hospital gown and without any tubes attached.

Instead, one could see ones self having a grand time in the Caribbean surrounded by the white sand and deep blue sea.

A person who is on a diet may envision himself to have a fit and beautiful body.

Some may use it to boost character or attitude. When a person views himself as poor, pathetic, idiotic or selfish… he may start to act that way. But the moment he sees himself as intellectual, humorous and friendly, he can begin to become that way.

It may also improve your relationship by picturing an increase in harmony, appreciation, affection and closeness.

Creative visualization cannot be used to “control” the behavior of others or cause them ill.  People should not be treated as voodoo dolls to be played around with.

Remember that the law of attraction exists and no one is exempt. If you wish others bad fortune, it will always come back to haunt you in time. Whatever you do, think or wish will always boomerang back to you, so be careful of what you wish for.

Well, I’m in Love with Love so I have decided to feature an article that was written by a man whose words changed my life.  In his book, Spiritual Economics, Eric Butterworth, the author, introduced me to the concept of pure potentiality and his thoughts changed my perception of everything and raised my conscious awareness.  Reading his book, not only for the first time but also many times thereafter, has become my foundation in terms of what really matters.

Unconditional Love is neither physical, nor romantic…it is an acceptance of all that is…and all there is…is Love.  Anyone who is experiencing the power of Love is always free and always growing.  Without Love and nurturing we cannot grow into our full potential.  This article by Eric Butterworth and the short story by an unknown author demonstrate Unconditional Love and how the experience of engaging in and the practicing of Unconditional Love can change lives one by one.  A good place to start is with the children.  As school begins, my wish is that all children may experience Unconditional Love from special teachers who’s Hearts are filled with nothing but that.  For some children, school is the only place where they feel safe and have the opportunity to feel anything.  Thanks to all of the parents, teachers, relatives, and advocates who champion the needs of children…the children are “the least of these.” Unconditional Love can change our world.

Love: The One Creative Force ~Eric Butterworth~

A college professor had his sociology class go into the Baltimore slums to get case histories of 200 young boys. They were asked to write an evaluation of each boy’s future. In every case the students wrote, “He hasn’t got a chance.” Twenty-five years later another sociology professor came across the earlier study. He had his students follow up on the project to see what had happened to these boys. With the exception of 20 boys who had moved away or died, the students learned that 176 of the remaining 180 had achieved more than ordinary success as lawyers, doctors and businessmen.  The Professor was astounded and decided to pursue the matter further.  Fortunately, all the men were in the area and he was able to ask each one, “How do you account for your success?”  In each case the reply came with feeling, “Thee was a teacher.”  The teacher was still alive, so he sought her out and asked her what magic formula she had used to pull these boys our of the slums into successful achievement?  Her eyes sparkled and her lips broke into a gentle smile.  “It’s really very simple,” she said, “I loved those boys.”  This is an example of how she might have loved…unconditionally.

A Special Teacher…Practicing Unconditional Love

Jean Thompson stood in front of her fifth-grade class on that first day of school in the fall and told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her pupils, saying she loved each of them the same, that she would treat them all the same.  But that was impossible for there in front of her, slumped in his third row seat, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.  Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed he didn’t play well with the other children, that his clothes were unkempt and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy was unpleasant. It got to the point during the first few months that she would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X’s and then highlighting the “F” at the top of the paper.

Because Teddy was a sullen little boy, no one else seemed to enjoy him either. At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child’s records and delayed Teddy’s until last. She opened his file, and found a surprise.  His first-grade teacher had written, and I quote, “Teddy is a bright, inquisitive child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and has good manners. He is a joy to be around.”  His second-grade teacher had penned, “Teddy is an excellent student, well-liked by all his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle.”  His third-grade teacher had noted, “Teddy continues to work hard but his mother’s death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best but his father doesn’t show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren’t taken.”  Teddy’s fourth-grade teacher had commented, “Teddy is withdrawn and doesn’t show much interest in school. He doesn’t have many friends and often falls asleep in class. He is tardy and could become a more serious problem.”

By now Mrs. Thompson realized the extent of the problem, but Christmas was coming fast. It was all she could do, with the school play and all, until the day before the holidays began and she was suddenly forced to focus again on Teddy Stoddard.  Her children brought her presents, all in beautiful ribbon and bright paper, except Teddy’s, which was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper of a grocery bag.  Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents. Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one-quarter full of cologne. She stifled the children’s laughter as she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume behind her wrist.  Teddy Stoddard stayed behind after class just long enough to say, “Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my mom used to.”

After the children left, she cried for at least an hour. On that very day, she quit teaching Reading, Writing, & Speaking. Instead, she began to teach Children. Jean Thompson paid very particular attention to the one called “Teddy.” As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. On the days when there would be an important test, Mrs. Thompson would remember that cologne.  By the end of the year he had become one of the highest achieving children in the class and, well, he had also somewhat become, the “pet” of that teacher who had once vowed to love all of her children exactly the same.

A year later, she found a note under her door from Teddy, telling her that of all the teachers he’d had in elementary school, she was his favorite.  Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy. He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still his favorite teacher of all time.  Four years later, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he’d stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would graduate from college with the highest of honors.  He assured Mrs. Thompson she was still his favorite teacher.

Four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor’s degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still his favorite teacher but that now, his name was a little longer. The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, M.D.

The story doesn’t end there. For there was yet another letter that spring. Teddy said he’d met this girl and was to be married.  He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit in the pew usually reserved for the mother of the groom.  And on that special day, Jean Thompson wore that bracelet, the one with the rhinestones missing.  And on that special day, Jean Thompson smelled the way Teddy remembered his mother smelling on their last Christmas together.

The human mind is the last great-unexplored continent on earth.  It contains riches beyond our wildest dreams. It will return anything we want to plant.
In an excerpt from The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale, George Bernard Shaw said, “People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, they make them.” We become what we think about.
Conversely, the person who has no goal, who doesn’t know where he’s going, and whose thoughts must therefore be thoughts of confusion, anxiety and worry – his life becomes one of frustration, fear, anxiety and worry. And if he thinks about nothing… he becomes nothing.
How does it work?
Why do we become what we think about?
Well, here’s an example of how it works…
There is a farmer who has some land, and it’s good, fertile land. The farmer has a choice as to what to plant on his land; he may plant whatever he chooses on the land. The land doesn’t care. It’s up to the farmer to make the choice.  We’re comparing the human mind with the land because the mind, like the land, doesn’t care what you plant in it. It will return what you plant, but it doesn’t care what you plant.
Now, let’s say that the farmer has two seeds in his hand- one is a seed of corn, the other is nightshade, a deadly poison. He digs two little holes in the earth and he plants both seeds-one corn, the other nightshade. He covers up the holes, waters and takes care of the land…and what will happen? Invariably, the land will return what was planted.
As it’s written in the Bible, “As ye sow, so shall ye reap.”  Remember the land doesn’t care. It will return poison in just as wonderful abundance as it will corn. So up come the two plants – one corn, one poison.
The human mind is far more fertile, far more incredible and mysterious and has far more Pure Potential than the land, but it works the same way. It doesn’t care what we plant. We may plant beautiful uplifting and positive loving kindness or we may plant confusion, misunderstanding, fear, hatred, and negativity in all forms, anxiety and so on.
Understand that what we plant in our mind with our thoughts, our mind must return to us.  The human mind is the last great-unexplored continent on earth. It contains riches beyond our wildest dreams. IT WILL RETURN ANYTHING WE PLANT. Thought shapes our whole existence and determines our course in life, whether it is that of sunshine and happiness or darkness and depression or worry.
Therefore, it follows, that to change physical form, or feeling, or any external condition, success, or habit, we are first to change our thought. Because energy follows thought, I encourage you to hold thoughts that uplift you.  Become familiar with what you are thinking and hold only the images in your mind that brings you Love, Happiness and Peace of Mind.
Our thoughts are more powerful than we can ever realize. Our subconscious  faithfully puts each thought into action without question just as the planted seed grows.  Our thoughts affect every part of us and in ways we are unaware of. One thought leads to another and so on.
Positive thinking empowers much more than our thoughts. Negative thinking can dismantle every part of our life. When making choices regarding our thoughts, remember each thought has great power that continues long after the thought has passed from our consciousness. Though thinking does not make it so, thinking makes us make it so. What we think becomes what we live.
When we take control of our mental state by deliberately choosing our thoughts and attitudes, we take advantage of our Pure Potential and we manifest our Heart’s Desire.

Be happy!

You will grow into God’s greatest blessing, His highest pride.

Be happy!

Yesterday’s world wants you to enjoy its surrendering breath. Today’s world wants you to enjoy its surrendered breath. Tomorrow’s world wants you to enjoy its fulfilling breath.

Be happy!

Be happy in the morning with what you have.
Be happy in the evening with what you are.

Be happy!

Do not complain. Who complains? The blind beggar in you. When you complain, you dance in the mire of ignorance. When you do not complain, all conditions of the world are at your feet, and God gives you a new name: aspiration. Aspiration is the supreme wealth in the world of light and delight.

Be happy!

Do you want never to be poor? Then be happy.
Do you want ever to be great? Then be happy.

Be happy!

You will get what you like most.
You will get what you like best.

Be happy!

God sees in you His aspiring creation. His transforming realization, His illumining revelation, and His fulfilling manifestation.

Be happy!
Be happy!

God sees in you another God. God sees you as another God. God sees you and Him as one.

It is you who must identify and embrace and Love yourself if you desire Love. No one can truly share Love with you if you do not Love yourself. To begin and learn how to Love the search for spiritual truth and self-realization begins with who and what you are. All truth and Love is found within you. Be proud of your uniqueness and appreciate you. Explore your talents and use your abilities wisely to the benefit of all. Remember that a compassionate heart is the cornerstone of Love. When you love yourself and share your love with others, that Love-Energy radiates outward for the world to see and feel. The practice of loving yourself creates well-being, balance and harmony, which leads to Happiness and Peace of Mind. Your effort is more than rewarded when you seek to know your True Self, the Divine Spirit that you have always been. Your desire to seek the Spiritual Good benefits all mankind. So, do your part beginning today. Loving thoughts and acts of Love and Gratitude are a great way to start every day…”I am Grateful and filled with Love for my Being, my True Self, my Divine Soul and I am blessed with the privilege and gift of knowing how to love me.” With this knowledge we are better equipped to serve others and to be the example of Love and Loving.  Below are five tips on how to love you.
  • Believe That You’re a Lovable Person. Begin loving yourself by looking into the mirror, look deep into your eyes and hold your focus there…the longer-the better…and then say to your Real Self, your Spirit, the True You… “I Love You”. When you focus on your eyes, when you look deep inside your True Self, realize that it is not the blonde or red or brown or black hair that you are looking at…it is not the dark skin or the light skin or somewhere in between…it is not the blue, green or brown eyes…it is not your perception of pretty or handsome…it is the Soul and we all are made in the image of God. We all want the same thing, which is to be happy and be loved. The Spirit is always worthy and deserving, so when you believe you are worthy of good things, good things come to you. Take full responsibility for your life and stop blaming others. Recognize yourself as Spirit because that is what you are. See yourself as the cause of what happens to you. Love yourself freely, deeply and purely. Love yourself the way you’ve always wanted to be loved.
  • Don’t Be Judgmental. Stop all the criticisms regarding yourself and others. Treat yourself as you would someone you love. Buddha said…”You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection.” Being judgmental of your life process or yourself in general automatically creates limitations and awareness can no longer move to a higher level. Stop being critical of yourself and others by avoiding comparisons and gossip. Be mindful of what you think and say. Focus your actions and thoughts on loving-kindness and the good that is to the benefit of all. Remember that it’s who you are, not what you do, that’s important.
  • Take Care of Your Health. We are in charge of what we say to ourselves so recognize that our lives are full of pure potential in health, wealth, and happiness. Take care of your body by giving it exercise and good food and proper rest and hydration. Be willing to create a life-style that generates and nourishes self-esteem. Health, contentment and trust are your greatest possessions and freedom is your greatest joy. Our bodies are magnificent instruments that support us in having our human experiences. In our Natural state, the human body has the ability to correct and heal and it is perfectly structured and operates perfectly. Watch it work the next time you have a cut…be patient and watch it heal itself. When we practice good care, we have a daily life experience of living with Ease. The Belief that our Natural state is that of Ease allows the energy in our bodies to transform our creation of “Dis-ease” due to improper thoughts and lack of good care back to the original, Natural State of Ease. The least that is required is good care and pure thoughts and the body will do the rest.
  • Know Yourself. Spend time in meditation. Observe and experience YOUR Silence. When you look within and are still, you can feel the freedom from fear and anger and all other negative energies. Use exactly the same principle you use to put yourself down to elevate yourself into who you really are. You are a Divine Spirit. Spirit is Pure and has pure potential and the capacity to recognize it as such. It is important to take time for yourself each day — time to focus into your spiritual awareness, time to drop the physical concerns of the moment and once again become aware that you are spiritual, that you are Divine, that you are, through your Soul, an extension of the Beloved, the Creator. Consciously generate positive thoughts and feelings of Love for that part of you that is the Beloved…your Spirit.
  • Forgive Yourself. Learn to forgive yourself. Make forgiveness part of “you.” You are forgiving to bring cleansing to you! The only way to liberate your mind and emotions from the toxic poison of judgment is forgiveness. All of the good that you do is worthless until you decide to deal with forgiveness. Recognize that forgiveness heals you! Forgive yourself and then use your energy to focus on the love, beauty and kindness in the world around you. Forgiving yourself is about your personal power. Accept yourself as the Divine Spirit that you are and commit to treating others with compassion, empathy, respect and forgiveness. Forgiveness of yourself will transform your life. You will move toward a life of peace, compassion, mercy, joy and kindness…that’s who you really are anyway…really look deep into your eyes…they are the window to your Soul…see the Divine You. What’s not to Love??

Little men with little minds and little imaginations go through life in little ruts, smugly resisting all changes which would jar their little worlds. ~Zig Ziglar

When you have an open mind, you can recognize a world of opportunity that not everyone has entry to. An open mind is receptive to new ideas and new modes of being and can allow you to find novel and innovative solutions to everyday quandaries.

Where some people might see only one possible course of action, you can see innumerable options because you aren’t restricted by self-limiting ideas. You have the freedom to explore a wide range of thought, and every action can open you to unusual and exciting prospects.

Seldom will you look upon anything and see barriers when you have an open mind.

Maintaining an open mind can help you see that anything is possible. Your future may appear to you as a long concourse in which you can see the steps you must take to build the life of your dreams.

You may feel particularly perceptive and keenly aware as you consider the possibilities. While ruminating on what you will accomplish, you may be blessed with insights concerning the nature of your future endeavors.

You can make the most of the information that streams into your consciousness by examining the source of that data. The heightened awareness with which you have been blessed can give you the means to view your life and the world in a vastly more creative and dynamic manner. You may be inspired to begin drafting a long-term plan using your intuitive mind as a guide.

You can feel that your mind is more agile and that you are keenly curious and aware. Keeping an open mind could help you learn to recognize new opportunities, accept new ideas, and integrate new ways of being. As you consider challenges you have faced in your past and those you are coping with in the present, you will be able to see new and exciting solutions that you have never considered before. The best solutions can surprise you in their unexpectedness.

You can encourage your mind to blossom by entertaining novel and creative ideas whenever possible.  Exercising your imagination through play may also help further open your mind.

As you cultivate your awareness, your ability to visualize your ambitions and interpret your intuition grows. Many of us move through our lives with our eyes closed, seeing only what we need to see to survive instead of looking deeper. Awareness is the trait that allows you to move beyond the obvious in order to explore what is hidden or invisible.

When you perceive more, you can become a more active participant in your life rather than a mental spectator watching your progress from the sidelines. Your life’s journey will be one of consciousness and resolve. Over time, you’ll become capable of great feats of intellectual and emotional flexibility, as well as insightfulness. The awareness that you nurture will help you understand and productively utilize your visions of the future.
