These days you can hardly go through any articles, books, DVDs, movies, films, documentaries with regard to self-improvement or self-help without coming across at least one mentioning of some ‘Universal Law’.

Suddenly, there appears to be a Universal Law for anything. Like we haven’t got enough Laws to deal with already!

There is truth to these ‘Universal Laws’, but in most cases, a little nuance is in place. Please read along, as the remainder of this article will clear it all up.

There are Universal Laws that guide your life behind the scenes of ‘physical reality’. These are actually rather ‘universal principles of life’. That would be a more appropriate qualification.

However, the qualification of ‘Universal Law’ has taken on a life of its own. The word ‘Law’ appears to be a magic word… Almost a magic wand that casts a spell on anyone who reads it that puts them in a hypnotized state thinking that what it says must be true. After all, it’s a ‘Law’ isn’t it? A ‘Law’ is always right. No more thinking required.

Today, subjects like the ‘Law of Attraction’ are at an all-time high of popularity. We’ve got the movie ‘The Secret’ and a whole big bunch of people trying to leverage on it by proclaiming themselves as ‘experts in the field of the Law of Attraction’, or ‘masters of attraction. Yes, there’s that magic word (wand) again.

And simply because people seem to like ‘Universal Laws’, every now and then a new ‘Universal Law’ makes its entrance. People come up with new ‘Universal Laws’ all the time. And likewise, new ‘experts on the Law of Attraction’ and ‘masters of attraction’ proclaim themselves every day.

Yet despite so many people having seen the movie ‘The Secret’ and knowing about the Law of Attraction, there is only a very, very small number of people who are actually living the life of their dreams, or ‘attracting their desires’, or ‘manifesting their dreams’. Yes those are some other ‘magic words’ from today’s common terminology.

How come? How come, with all that knowledge, with all those ‘Universal Laws’ already written and told about, and with all those new ‘Universal Laws’, ‘Spiritual Laws of the Universe’, ‘Subsidiary Laws’ and so on coming about each and every day on the Internet and elsewhere… How come with all the people buying those books, DVDs, movies, films, documentaries, and so on, are still not ‘attracting their desires’ or ‘manifesting their dreams’?

I’ll tell you why. Most people have heard something about it, but have no real knowledge about the matter. They are aware of the fact that there are ‘Universal Laws’, or rather ‘universal principles of life’ that work behind the scenes and guide the courses of their lives.

However, most people have lost track, because so many who think they know what they’re talking about (while they don’t) come up with these new ‘Universal Laws’ all the time. There may be some truth to all these different ‘Universal Laws’. But what they really do for genuine seekers for the truth like yourself is not much more than making things way too difficult and complex to apply.

And if that isn’t enough already, often another big problem comes up when you start reading about the ‘Law of Attraction’ and the ‘Laws of the Universe’. The ‘experts’ who speak or write about them tend to do so in such an overly symbolic fashion, that few well-thinking people can make any practical sense of it. What you find is nothing but ‘enigmas wrapped in riddles’.

Listen; there are universal principles of life. ‘Universal Laws’ if you will. However, when it comes to applying them to your advantage, we are in desperate need for some clarity.

Let me show you what I mean. I can come up with hundreds of ‘Universal Laws’ if I want.

Here are a couple of them…

  • Introducing the Universal Law of Ping Pong

It says you have to use ping pong balls if you want to play table tennis.

  • Introducing the Universal Law of Rain

It says that when it rains, things get wet.

Disappointing, eh? But they did sound interesting at first, right?

See what’s happening here?

The mere qualification of ‘Universal Law’ makes the statement sound interesting already, while the true deeper meaning of the ‘Universal Law’ is nothing more than a standard, blindingly obvious platitude.

So let me give you another Universal Law right now, to satisfy your probably insatiable need (or so you may think) for knowledge of all ‘Universal Laws’ to improve your life, ‘attract your desires’, and ‘manifest your dreams’ once and for all:

Introducing the Universal Law of Bollocks

It says that it’s all bollocks.

That’s right, it’s all bollocks. Bollocks! There are universal principles guiding your life. If you want, you can call them ‘Universal Laws’. I’ve done so in my books and articles, because that’s what people are looking for these days. If I would apply other terminology, people would never even be looking at it. Simply because they think they need ‘Laws’.

But it’s all bollocks, because before this whole game we call ‘human life’ started, we didn’t get an instruction manual on how life was supposed to be lived. We didn’t get a Code of Law full of ‘thou shalt not’s’. The purpose of the whole thing was to find out the universal principles and realize that through applying these principles, YOU can have full control over whatever it is you want to create. The purpose of the whole thing was to find out that the world ‘outside’ is only a mirror showing what’s going on ‘inside’. All this time, the whole thing has been about finding out that you create your reality experience yourself.

Yes, that’s right, you ‘create’, which is much more than ‘attracting’. But that’s something you’ll discover as you get more experienced in the conscious living of your life and in the engineering your own success by applying the true and simple universal principles of life.  Or yes, ‘Laws’ if you will.

What you call ‘good’ and ‘bad’ are qualifications of your own. You are the one who deems things to be ‘good’ or ‘bad’. That’s merely a judgment from your individual perspective. When you’re not satisfied with your reality experience, you need to create something else that you are satisfied with.

For many, this is where the Law of Attraction comes in. According to most, this one states that what you focus your thoughts on becomes your reality. There’s truth to this statement, but there’s more to the story. Positive thinking and visualizing aren’t going to cut it.

There are certain boundary conditions to take into account, certain ‘universal principles of life’. Without attending to these conditions, your attraction efforts will be sabotaged. And this is exactly what most people who have seen ‘The Secret’ and have tried to put the ‘Law of Attraction’ into practice are experiencing.

But the last thing you need are instructions that are either overly symbolic, or too complex to apply. What you want is to keep things simple and straightforward. Or else you may get lost in the details. You want just enough straightforward knowledge for simple application of the principles, while still having a total view on the big picture that is comprehensive enough to not forget about any universal principle or Law for that matter.

If you want to make life simple for yourself, to start pulling the right strings at once to create the life and destiny of your dreams, then don’t waste another second on trying to find out every small, detailed, insignificant ‘Universal Law’ someone came up with today. You’ll be like a cat chasing its own tail: a never-ending story that leaves you exhausted and depressed.

Neither should you merely think positive thoughts and then wait for things to happen. There’s a little more to it. Just a little, nothing complex, but still extremely important.

Just keep it simple.

There are 6 main Universal Principles (or Laws) that cover all universal principles automatically. Attend to them all, which is a simple thing to do without much effort required, and you’ll be living more than your dreams before you can even consciously realize you created such an incredible experience!

Keep it straightforward and easy-to-apply. The game of life wasn’t intended to be complex and difficult. The game was supposed to be simple and easy, and most of all FUN!   And there’s a simple road to it, and it’s just a small decision away.   Welcome to the Revolution.

What…  You mean haven’t heard about the Revolution??  More free information on the Great Revolution, and on the ‘universal principles of life’  (the true ‘Universal Laws’) can be found at http://www.revolutionizaffiliates.com/go.php?a=1234&p=17.

=========================================

Nicholas P. Kidd and Henk J.M. Schram are the instigators of the alleged ‘Great Revolution’, which provides the members with truthful instructions regarding the universal principles of life.

The Revolution is receiving increasingly widespread attention for its straightforward explanations and instructions with regard to complex issues, which are made understandable for people from all walks of life. In essence, the true secrets of the ‘Law of Attraction’ and the other ‘Universal Laws’ are explained in much clearer and practical ways than the ‘enigmas wrapped in riddles’ that usually characterize the descriptions of the Law of Attraction and its application.

You should pray for a healthy mind in a healthy body. -Juvenal

One of the most exciting changes that could mean a breakthrough in health centers on the term mind-body medicine.

Twenty years ago, the equation was definitely body-oriented. If it was conceded that the mind plays a part in health, doctors generally had disparaging things to say about psychosomatic illness and the placebo effect. Neither seemed like “real” medicine, and no medical school curriculum taught otherwise. It was a source of dismay, in fact, that alternative approaches even existed.

What was not realized, as the mind-body connection turned into hard science, is that the polarity needs to be reversed entirely. It is the mind that dominates the body, that acts as chooser, controller, and governor. Instead of being incidental, your state of awareness plays a huge part in how your cells function.

We need to reinvent the body as a creation of consciousness — that step, which was taken thousands of years ago in Ayurveda and Chinese medicine, would clarify so many mysteries surrounding faith healing, energy work, acupuncture, Qi Gong, and spontaneous remissions of intractable disorders like cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.

So far, the breakthrough hasn’t occurred, not on a completely reliable basis, secure enough so that using the mind as healer becomes more predictable and efficacious than drugs and surgery. The reason that we don’t have mind-based therapies at every hospital are complicated. Rather than go into them, let’s ask the most salient question.

What can you and I do to promote wellness based, first and foremost, on consciousness?

To answer that question, you need specific goals, as with any long-range project.

Goal #1:  Free yourself from the past.

Goal #2: Address bad habits and addictions.

Goal #3: Find the core of the self.

Goal #4: Maintain a program for personal growth and evolution.

Goal #5: Become aware of how your environment – at work, at home, in your closest relationships – mirrors who you are inside.

I’ve tried to state these goals as objectively as possible, without leaning toward one method or another. There are countless techniques available in the American supermarket of medical and health advice.  But the reason that people come away frustrated and confused is that the specifics of what they are doing today — going to yoga class, drinking wheat grass juice, reading Buddhist sermons — becomes haphazard without an overall vision.

These five goals give you the bare outline of a vision, which you can fill in by turning each into a question:

1. What am I doing to free myself from my past?

2.  Am I honestly confronting my bad habits and addictive tendencies?

3.  Do I make choices from a secure center, knowing who I really am?

4.  Do I have confidence that I am evolving and will continue to evolve?

5.  Looking around, how does my world, including everyone I relate to, reflect what’s going on inside?

These should be approached as medical questions, because even if you aren’t asking them — especially if you aren’t asking them — your body is eavesdropping all the time. There are three levels of reflection that give feedback to you: your thoughts, your physical condition, and the external world. They are linked and fused, which is what makes holism possible.

If you could ignore your thoughts, your body, or your circumstances, letting one or two go while concentrating only on what’s left, holistic medicine, or holistic living, would be a delusion. Consciousness isn’t compartmentalized; it is whole. Your self is the hub from which everything emanates. All experience, physical, mental, and spiritual, occur in consciousness.

I think we’ve outlined a good beginning for switching the mind-body polarity. (Readers who wish to approach these issues in depth may want to look at my book, Reinventing the Body, Resurrecting the Soul.) We are immersed in a materialistic worldview, and although skepticism has been quieted somewhat by the flood of research confirming the mind-body connection, there will be resistance to seeing consciousness as central to well-being.

But even if you decide to put your faith entirely in mainstream medicine and its focus on drugs and surgery — a choice that fewer informed people make nowadays — there is no doubt that positive lifestyle changes are unassailable for preventing more and more illnesses. You can’t make such changes without confronting most if not all the goals I’ve outlined.  They are key if you want to send the best messages from mind to body.

Since you are sending such messages constantly, why shouldn’t they be the best?

Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation. ~Brian Tracy

This is an antidote to victimization. It establishes that you are seen and provided for.

The more you notice the truth of this principle, the less you will believe that you are a victim.

Looking around, it’s obvious that life is orderly. A bee flies from flower to flower, eating and pollinating in accordance with a magnificent, ordered scheme.

Millions of years of evolution have exquisitely matched bee and flower so that neither can exist without the other.

Why, then, do we believe that our own lives can’t be effortlessly sustained?

One major obstacle is that we see ourselves as victim. Our bodies are subject to aging and death. Accidents are unavoidable. Catastrophe and disaster looms just around the corner, controlled by a whimsical destiny. And simply imagining the terrible things that can happen to you brings as much suffering as the events themselves.

Being a victim is the logical result of being in constant danger. If God sustains us, then surely he must reverse this whole scheme of random accidents that puts everyone in peril.  This is a tricky point, however, because we are also surrounded by abundance in Nature.

Optimists point to our green earth overflowing with life, nourishment, and beauty.

However, can a loving God really supply us with life’s good things one day and pain the next?  Most people who feel grateful to God tend to deny that he is also responsible for disease, calamity, and death. Yet an all-knowing, all-powerful deity can’t be responsible for only part of what goes on. Either he sustains everything or nothing.

Gratitude helps you to grow and expand; gratitude brings joy and laughter into your life and into the lives of all those around you. ~Eileen Caddy

The way to escape from living under a God who brings pleasure one day and pain the next is to realize that God isn’t a person.

We only call God “he” because our minds resist thinking of God as a total abstraction.

In truth, being total, God has to be abstract. You can’t wrap your mind around the All. Instead, we wrap our minds around the things we notice, and choose to believe in.

To the extent that you notice God in your life, acknowledge him with gratitude. God doesn’t need to be thanked—after all; he already has everything, including thanks.

But by choosing gratitude you are selecting a benevolent aspect of the All on which you want to focus. The purpose of gratitude is to connect you to a higher vision of life.

Whatever you pay attention to will grow.

If you pay attention to those aspects of God that demonstrate love, truth, beauty, intelligence, order, and spiritual evolution, those aspects will begin to expand in your life.

Bit by bit, like a mosaic, disparate fragments of grace will merge to form a complete picture. Eventually this picture will replace the more threatening one you have carried around inside you since infancy.

The external world claims to be real, but it, too, is an image created in consciousness and projected outward. Once you realize that you alone are the projector of reality, you will no longer be dominated by external events. You will correct the mistake that lies at the very root of victimization: a belief that the movie controls you, instead of the other way around.

Procrastination is opportunity’s assassin.  ~Victor Kiam

People get stuck in a lifestyle of procrastination because they believe their own excuses for not taking action.

Procrastination is the main reason that people fail to live richer and more fulfilling lives. If you’re stuck in a rut of continual procrastination, make up your mind to stop making excuses.

If you’ve been making excuses for putting things off, here’s how to take charge of your life.

First, think about all the things you’ve been postponing-at work, at home, in your personal relationships, or for your personal development.

Make a list. Now choose one thing on that list that you can do something about today.

Write down every excuse you’ve given yourself for not having done anything about it yet. Ask yourself if you have considered all the consequences of your procrastination in this area.

Do you want to live with them?

Do you have a legitimate reason for postponing this job?

You have to be honest about this for it to work.

Forget about what other people think; look in the mirror and ask the hard questions. If you have a legitimate reason for delaying action in this area, move on to another item on the list. Find something that you can make happen today, simply by deciding to make it happen.

Now do it. When you’ve completed this task successfully, your satisfaction will motivate you to repeat this process with another item on your list.

Successful people know that their accomplishments depend on two things: taking action and staying focused on their goals. People who are successful in any business or profession have an ability to make things happen. All successful people win the war against procrastination because they develop certain traits.

To defeat procrastination and get all you want out of life, we must:

  • Know what we want.
  • Take action.
  • Be willing to make mistakes and learn from them.
  • Stop making excuses!

Now go back to your list and choose another project.

Write down every excuse you’ve been giving yourself for not getting started, or for leaving it unfinished. Put as many things on the list as you can think of.

Now begin to eliminate one excuse at a time.

Ask yourself some hard questions: Why do I have to postpone this project? Is it necessary to go on postponing it? If Bill Gates were in my situation, would he postpone it? What will happen if I keep putting this off?  If I keep putting this off, when will I get it done?  Can I get started on it now?  What part of the job could I complete now?  If I postpone this job now, what other job will I tackle to make better use of my time?

As you eliminate your excuses, think of what you can do now, today to make this project happen, and do it.   Anne Frank wrote in her diary:

How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.

Make a decision to start improving your world today. Then take action adjust and take action again.  There you have it… a simple way to overcome procrastination today.  No more excuses, let’s get started right now by making our list.

With January nearing it’s end and Valentine’s Day, rapidly approaching, we would like to share some of our favorite romantic flirting tips with you.

But first we want to tell you about this powerful new technique that almost no one knows about. It’s about attracting a new romantic partner, or bringing back the closeness and passion in dying relationships… It is now well-known that people communicate with each other on a subconscious level constantly. We are constantly communicating with and affecting each other, whether we realize it or not…

Maybe you’re having problems ‘getting noticed’ by new potential partners?

Maybe you’ve lost that connection or spark with your old partner? …Like Carrie,  before she used the Contact program…

“We are closer now than we have been in years The Contact Program has worked very well for me! And it worked faster than I expected as well. I used it for improving my relationship with my husband of 11 years, and immediately I noticed him responding to me differently. We were in a ‘rut’ so to speak and I wanted to bring back the connection and spice to our marriage. I worked with the visualizations and in some cases actually noticed he would do or say something, just as I had visualized it. That was huge confirmation for me. Our relationship is very strong and we are closer now than we have been in years. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking to effect their relationship. You will be pleasantly surprised.”

Carrie, USA

It is rather difficult to be romantic without first flirting.

What exactly is flirting and how can you adapt some flirting into your own romantic moods and play? To begin, you don’t want to be too aggressive. Start with very friendly gestures and once you have gotten those moves down, and then go for the romantic flirting!

Flirting is a frame of mind:

• Be self-confident and do not be afraid to take risks.
• Be enthusiastic about romance and be positive!

Start a sexy conversation:

• Start with a simple, opening line by saying hello.
• Talk about anything at all, whatever will get the romance going.

Enjoy yourself and have fun:
• Be playful, light-hearted and above all, be spontaneous.
• Show that you can be vulnerable.

Make good use of all props:

• Always use a prop.
• Props will get the conversation started naturally. They encourage conversation and others will want to start talking to you.
• Great props are: pets, children, great jewelry, a wonderful scent, a sweatshirt with your favorite sports team’s emblem, an interesting book or magazine.

Play host:

• Take the lead by taking on the role of host.
• Do not be the passive person in waiting, but rather the lead.

Introduce yourself first:

• Move closer to the person you want to meet and introduce yourself confidently!

Listen-up:

• Everyone loves to be heard and when you are a good listener your partner will be drawn to you.

Make bold eye contact:

• Look your partner in the eye gently (no more than 2-4 seconds) and then look away. You don’t want to stare!

Pay a genuine compliment:

• Your partner will be pleased and will warm up to you more. Show a beautiful smile:
• You will look so much more approachable. Everyone is attracted to a genuine and heartfelt, smile.

So there you go! These are all ground-breakers when wanting to approach someone with romance. We must always be mindful of the fundamentals. When we just dive right in, unexpected, we can turn our loved one off.

Go slow, a step at a time and feeling confident, approach with your best romance moves.

The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination. ~Don Williams, Jr~

Life is like a road. There are long and short roads; smooth and rocky roads; and crooked and straight paths. Some roads lead to a life of single blessedness, marriage, and religious vocation. Some roads lead to fame and fortune.

A wrong turn can lead to isolation and poverty. Crossroads can lead to happiness or sadness, victory or disappointment.

Just like any road, there are corners, detours, and crossroads in life. With four roads to choose from and with limited knowledge on where to go, which road will you take?

What guarantees do you have that will allow you to choose the right one? Would you choose or just stay where you are — in front of a crossroad?

There are no guarantees.

This is one of the most important things you need to realize about life. You will never know where a road will lead you until you take it. Nobody said that choosing to do the right thing all the time would always lead you to happiness.

Loving someone with all your heart does not guarantee that your love will be returned. Gaining fame and fortune does not guarantee happiness. There are  many possible outcomes some of which may be beyond your control.

However, you still have control over decisions that you will make and your reactions to different situations.

Wrong decisions are always at hindsight.

Had you known that you were making a wrong decision, would you have gone along with it?

Perhaps not so why would you choose a certain path when you know it would get you lost? Why make a certain decision if you knew from the very beginning that it is not the right one.

It is only after you have made a decision and reflected on it that you realize its soundness. If the consequences or outcomes are good for you, then you have decided correctly. Otherwise, your decision was wrong for you.

Take the risk: Make a decision.

Since life does not offer any guarantees and you will never know if your decision is the right one or the wrong one for you until you make it, then you might as well take the risk and decide.

It is definitely better than staying at the crossroads. While it is true that a wrong turn could get you lost, it could also be an opportunity for an adventure or it could lead to more roads.

It is all a matter of perspective. Make wise decisions. Taking risks is not about being careless and throwing caution to the wind.

Here are some tips that could help you choose the best option in the face of life’s crossroads:

1) Get as much information as you can about the situation.

You will not have the confidence to make a decision when you are armed with limited information.

Just like any news reporter, ask the 5 W’s: what, who, when, where, and why. What is the situation? Who are the people involved? When did this happen? Where is this leading? Why are you in this situation? These are just some of the questions to ask to know more about the situation.

2) Identify and create options.

What are your options in a given situation? What do you do when you think that the situation offers no options? This is the chance to create your own option.

Let your creative mind work. Entertain all ideas. Do not shoot anything down when an idea comes to your head. Sometimes the most outrageous idea could prove to be the right one in the end.

3) Weigh the pros and cons of every option.

Assess each option by looking at the advantages and disadvantages. This way, you get more insights about the consequences of each option.

4) Trust yourself and make a decision.

Now that you have assessed your options, it is time to trust yourself. Remember that there are no guarantees and decisions are best evaluated in hindsight.

Decide and believe that you are choosing the best option at this point in time.

Now that you have made a decision, be ready to face its consequences. It may take you to a place of promise or a land of problems.

The important thing is that you have chosen to live your life instead of remaining a bystander or a passive audience to your own life.

Whether you made the right or wrong decision, only time can tell. Whatever the outcome, learn from it and remember that you always have the chance to make better decisions in the future.

Keep this thought in mind:

You always have a choice between being a lost traveler or an accidental tourist of life.  Choice or “free will” is one of life’s  greatest gifts… But we only reap the benefits of “Free Will Power’ when we recognize we have Choice and Choose to use it.

In the end the quality of your life comes down to either using Your Power or Losing Your Power.

Dr. Gabriel Cousens

and raw food guru David Wolfe

all have in common…

They’re all featured in a powerful documentary film the will forever change the way you think about your health (just watching the trailer will leave you stunned.)

http://www.rawfor30days.com/cmd.php?Clk=4556541

Whether you’re in perfect health or suffering with an illness like diabetes or any other health issue I highly recommend you watch this film.

It’s a powerful, emotional and educational film that is a must see for anyone who cares about their health. The films shows how important the food we eat is and how all it takes is 30 days to make a huge life altering shift in your health.

If you care about yourself and the health of your family, do yourself a favor and watch this movie!

And for 5 days only the producers of the film are giving away this film entitled “Simply Raw: Reversing Diabetes in 30 Days” and its companion “Raw for Life” 2 disc DVD set for 50% OFF the regular price

All in an effort to raise awareness and raise funds for a ballot initiative to have all GMO (Genetically Modified Foods) labeled in California.

Why is it so important to get this passed in California?

Because it will set a precedent for the rest of the country to label GMO foods (something that much of the rest of the world is already doing).

Currently GMO foods are NOT labeled in the United States (or Canada)…even though they are labeled and even banned in many parts of the world.

Learning is the beginning of wealth. Learning is the beginning of health. Learning is the beginning of spirituality. Searching and learning is where the miracle process all begins. Jim Rohn

Music’s Healing Power — The Perfect Therapy

You’re about to be wheeled in for surgery. You’re very nervous, and nothing anyone says is going to make you feel better. Finally, someone turns on some incredibly soothing music. You finally feel the peace wash over you and you know everything is going to be okay. Is it just a feeling, or does music actually have any
influence over your health?

The evidence is stacked up strongly in favor of music’s healing
power!
A positive link has been found for those suffering from things like autism, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Tourette’s.

Why Does Music Have a Healing Effect?

music=healthThere are neuroscientists who are working to discover exactly why music has healing powers.

After all, it’s pretty amazing that it can stimulate certain areas of the brain, speed healing, and decrease anxiety and increase optimism.

There are different components to music that can have an effect. Pitch, harmony, frequency, melody, and rhythm all effect the brain in different ways. We know that some of the brain locations are involved in helping to heal and soothe the body as well.

The brain can be taught and stimulated to perform better — and it seems that music is the
perfect vehicle to do that.

Musical Therapy

There are around 5,000 registered musical therapists in the United States. Their services are used to soothe people, stimulate recovery, and more. As we now know from scientific evidence, music has an actual physical effect on the body as well.

What Can Music Heal?

Music can be beneficial in just about every circumstance. However, scientists are looking into some specific uses where it has been found to be particularly effective.

Those who have had strokes often have trouble with their speech. It’s thought that the act of
singing or chanting can increase their fluency! It also has a strong effect on optimism and a positive outcome in
recovery overall.

In fact, the same effect has been seen with those who stutter. Music and singing can completely take the stutter away for a time. This is a great relief and a definite boost for someone who is tired of stuttering.

Parkinson’s disease affects movement. The rhythm of music can be a great help because it can stimulate the brain to allow more movement. It can help a person with Parkinson’s disease to move smoothly and vibrantly!

Memory is one of the biggest areas of study for music’s healing power. Research in the area of Alzheimer’s disease has been particularly promising. While it doesn’t take away or lessen the disease, it can help to stimulate memories for the patient.

It’s apparent that music has a special place in both our hearts and our minds, since even those who have nearly completely lost touch with reality can recognize and sing songs they have loved throughout their life.

Music has also been tested to be an amazing de-stressor. You’ve probably seen its effects yourself! You can come home and pop in your favorite CD at the end of the day and the worries that troubled you during the work hours instantly melt away.

The Science Behind Music’s Healing Power

However, there is science behind this and its healing power. Dr. Mike Miller of the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, set out to study this.

He used high-tech imaging to measure blood vessel size while listening to music. What he found was that the lining of the blood vessel relaxed and opened up. It also produced chemicals that help protect the heart.

There is a catch here. It has to be music the person enjoys! If they do not, the vessels close up. This is a stress response — the opposite of what we want.

Music can heal indirectly as well. You see, stress can have terrible effects on the body and mind long term. It can cause the blood vessels to become rigid, which does not allow the blood to flow freely. Arteries can harden as well. Blood pressure can rise overall. All of this is a recipe for heart attack and stroke!

Stress has a negative effect on the immune system as well. People who are stressed tend to get sick far more often. Those who are stressed often experience fertility and performance issues. Stress can even lead to anxiety and depression. It’s an all-around bad mixture for the body!

That’s why we see such positive effects from calm music. Music can make you feel great! When your mood improves, the stress gets chased away. It follows, then, that listening to music consistently can improve your health because it eliminates the factor of stress and its effects on the body and mind.

Hospitals Recognize Music’s Healing Power

Many hospitals and doctors are starting to recognize the wonderful healing effect music can have. They know that it can reduce stress and anxiety. It can help improve the recovery period — and it’s incredibly cost effective.

You can try this as well! There are so many ways you can integrate music into your daily life. Whether you have a condition you feel could be helped by music or not, music can positively affect your mood and overall health.

Researchers do note that you should change up the music you listen to. That way, it is kept fresh and alive, and the effects remain strong. You are now in a great position because you know that music can be so beneficial. If you should ever need surgery or to overcome an illness, you’ll be well aware of the amazing
benefits music can hold for you.

It’s a great thing that music’s healing power is not only being studied, but utilized. We’ve used music to heal since the beginning of time — it’s part of who we are. We will come to learn much, much more as scientists dedicate their time to this important area of study. Even more important, however, is that you make
music therapy a part of your everyday life.

Share it with those you love! If you know someone who is stressed or healing, the chances are high they could use some healing power. The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to the wonderful effects music can have on your body.

The word Ayurveda is composed of two words “ayus” meaning “life” and “veda” meaning “knowledge,” that is, “science of a long life.”

Ayurveda deals with healthy living, along with therapeutic measures that relate to physical, mental, social, and spiritual harmony and is among the few traditional systems of medicine that involve surgery.

Ayurveda is a branch of the Vedas. Originating in ancient India, ‘Vedas’ means knowledge. There were Vedas written for every aspect of life. Ayurveda provides an integrated approach to the prevention and treatment of illness through lifestyle interventions and a wide range of natural therapies. Ayurvedic theory states that all imbalance and disease in the body begin with imbalance or stress in the awareness, or consciousness, of the individual. This mental stress leads to unhealthy lifestyles, which further promote ill health. Therefore, mental techniques such as meditation are considered essential to the promotion of healing and to prevention.

The Universe, according to ancient Indian thinking is composed of five basic elements, namely: Prithivi (earth), Apya(water), Teja (fire), Vayu (air) and Akash(ether).

As the human body is similarly constituted, there is a fundamental harmony between the universe and man, a healthy balance between the microcosm and macrocosm. Ayurveda describes all physical manifestations of disease as due to the imbalance of these basic physiological principles in the body.

True medicine, according to Ayurveda is one, which cures the disease without causing any side effect. It is in this aspect that Ayurveda enjoys an advantage over the modern system of medicine. Health, according to Ayurveda, is the natural state of all three aspects of human being i.e. body, mind and the soul (Indriyas, Manas and atma). In addition, effects of yogic postures and breathing on blood flow showed consistent changes with various breathing practices, changes that were more pronounced in trained yogic practitioners. Changes in endocrine hormone measurements also have been associated with certain Ayurvedic practices.

Measurement of metabolic rate, oxygen exchange, lung capacity, and red and white blood cell counts have been found to be associated with general yogic training and in some cases with specific asanas (posture). When the natural state comes in contact with unhappiness (Dukhasamayoga) disease result.

Ayurveda has eight distinct- branches :

1. General medicine
2. Surgery
3. Ear, nose, throat, eye and mouth diseases
4. Psychiatry
5. Midwifery and pediatrics
6. Toxicology
7. Rejuvenation and tonics and
8. Aphrodiasics

It is because of these eight branches that Ayurveda is known as the Astanga-ayurveda.

Ayurveda describes all physical manifestations of disease as due to the imbalance of three basic physiological principles in the body, called doshas, which are believed to govern all bodily functions. Evaluation of these three doshas–vata, pitta, and kapha–is accomplished primarily by feeling the patient’s pulse at the radial artery, which is a detailed and systematic technique called nadi vigyan.

This evaluation determines the types of herbs prescribed, and it guides the physician in the application of all other ayurvedic therapies. Doshas:

Vata - is likened to the wind, which is constantly moving and hence represents the central nervous system.

Pitta – the sun, which is a source of energy. It represents the digestive system and biochemical processes.

Kapha - governs the balance of tissue fluid and controls the cell growth and the firmness of the body.

These biochemical processes within the human body are similar to the moon governing the tides.

Specific lifestyle interventions are a major preventive and therapeutic approach in Ayurveda as well. Each patient is prescribed an individualized dietary, eating, sleeping, and exercise program depending on his or her constitutional type and the nature of the underlying dosha imbalance at the source of the illness.

The Ayurvedic practitioner uses a variety of precise body postures, all derived from the age-old discipline of yoga; breathing exercises; and meditative techniques.

These postures are used to create an individualized self-care program to improve both physical health and personal consciousness. In addition, herbal preparations are added to the patient’s diet for preventive and rejuvenative purposes as well as for the treatment of specific disorders. In addition to mental factors, lifestyle, and dosha imbalance, Ayurveda identifies a fourth major factor in disease: the accumulation of metabolic byproducts and toxins in the body tissues.

Ayurvedic physical therapy, called panchakarma, consists of physical applications, including herbalized oil massage, herbalized heat treatments, and elimination therapies (e.g., therapies to improve bowel movements), which promote internal cleansing and removal of such toxic metabolic wastes. Certain of the agents used in panchakarma therapy are proposed to have free-radical scavenging, or antioxidant, effects.

Free radicals are naturally occurring atoms or molecules that are highly reactive with anything they come into contact with. A recently developed theory suggests that free radicals play important roles in causing a wide range of degenerative and chronic disorders, including cancer and aging. Thus, substances with antioxidant properties may be effective in preventing, or even treating, myriad conditions.

Ayurveda emphasizes the interdependence of the health of the individual and the quality of societal life.

Therefore, measures to ensure the collective health of society, such as pollution control, community hygiene, the collective practice of meditation programs, and appropriate living conditions, are supported.

Ayurveda has been known to treat people with various chronic diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, chronic bronchitis, eczema, psoriasis, hypertension, constipation, headaches, chronic sinusitis, and non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus

In addition, published studies have documented reductions in cardiovascular disease risk factors, including blood pressure, cholesterol, and reaction to stress, in individuals practicing Ayurvedic methods and have shown improvement in overall health care utilization measures among meditators.

The “technology” of meditative practices has been subjected to studies showing physiological changes of heart rate, blood pressure, brain cortex activity, metabolism, respiration, muscle tension, lactate level, skin resistance, salivation, and pain and stress responses (improvement), and both negative and positive behavioral effects.

How Chakra Music Can Help You

Before understanding how chakra music can help us, we must first understand what the seven chakras are and their significance to our lives. In our bodies, we have seven main energy centers which allows energy to flow throughout the body.

chakrasnotesThe seven chakras are:

- Root Chakra – located at the base of the spine, in the tailbone area.
- Sacral Chakra – located in the lower abdomen.
- Solar Plexus Chakra – located in the upper abdomen.
- Heart Chakra – located in the center of the chest.
- Throat Chakra – located in the throat.
- Third Eye Chakra – located in the pineal gland in the brain.
- Crown Chakra – located at the very top of the head.

Each chakra has a different purpose.

The Root Chakra controls our feeling of well-being and survival, while the Sacral Chakra regulates our connections with others and our feelings.

The Solar Plexus Chakra is strongly related to our intellect, self-confidence, and ego.

The Heart Chakra is all about love – relationships, forgiveness, compassion, and self-acceptance are all part of this chakra.

The Throat Chakra controls how we express ourselves and our relationships with others, while the Third Eye Chakra regulates our intuition and psychic abilities.

Finally, the Crown Chakra helps us with our spirituality and our connection to the spiritual world, as well as our consciousness, our subconsciousness, and the superconsciousness.

When all of the seven chakras are balanced and in harmony, our brain and our bodies, as well as our health, is at optimal performance.

Stress can put the chakras at an imbalance, causing various health problems. There are various methods that can balance each chakra individually, but a great way to balance all seven chakras at the same time is to listen to chakra music.

Chakra music can help straighten out the balance of the seven chakras, which might help you feel energized and ready to face the world. This is done through chakra music due to its frequencies.

A piece of chakra music will include several different frequencies – each frequency will focus on a specific chakra. When listening to chakra music, each of your seven chakras will be stimulated and balanced. This will reduce your feelings of stress, which in turn will increase your health and well-being.

Many health problems will be reduced or go away completely due to the seven chakras being balanced and stimulated.

When listening to this type of music, you can try to focus on each chakra as the frequency hits each one and try to imagine each chakra opening up and healing themselves. Become one with the music and allow it to go through your body.

Many people have reported feelings of healing and strength after regular exposure to chakra music.

Chakra music has been found to repair tears to the seven chakras. Trauma and other bad experiences can cause stress and tears to the energy centers, so chakra music has been used with success with trauma survivors. After listening to chakra music, all the seven chakras will be more open and vibrating at a higher resonance, which can help a person feel stronger.

The use of chakra music in meditation has become more and more popular, since it helps stimulate the seven chakras during meditation. It also helps you relax faster during meditation, although it is not required to reach a state of total relaxation. Some people just find that reaching the state of relaxation is
easier by listening to chakra music.

How Music Affects Water and What This Means to Us

Can words and music really affect water?

Dr. Masaru Emoto, a doctor of alternative medicine from Japan, has conducted many experiments on water crystals and have found that words and music have both positive and negative effects on water.Dr. Emoto’s experiments have been published into several books, one of them the well known book The Hidden Messages in Water.

His findings show that music has a big effect on water and therefore, on us as well, since we are largely made up of water. Dr. Emoto put water into containers and wrote or typed different thoughts and feelings on labels and put them on the containers. Immediately afterwards, the water was frozen and the combination of a microscope and high-speed photography resulted in photos of water crystals.

Beautiful water crystals were formed when Dr. Emoto used beautiful words, such as love and gratitude, while misshapen and distorted crystals were formed when slang or swear words were used. Polluted water formed ugly crystals, but after polluted water was prayed over, prettier water crystals resulted.

Such amazing findings show that words, both written and spoken, can actually have an effect on water. But what about music? Dr. Emoto also did these water crystal experiments with music. He put water between two speakers and turned on a specific piece of music for several hours. Then the water was frozen and photographed by Dr. Emoto.

Classical music such as those by Beethoven and Bach resulted into beautiful water crystals. Dr. Emoto also found that the Tibet Sutra and the Kawachi Folk Dance all produced pretty water crystals. However, rock music did not have the same results – instead, rings of cracks showed up when the water exposed to rock music was frozen.

These results by Dr. Emoto and other scientists since then have shown that some music have healing properties and others don’t. What’s even more amazing is that music actually has an effect on a non-living, physical matter. Since 70% of our bodies are made up of water, we can apply the healing properties of classical
music to our own bodies.

Every piece of music has different frequencies, and these frequencies can reach different parts of our body to assist our immune systems and minds to achieve healing and other positive effects. Dr. Emoto has said that he sees energy as vibrations moving through matter. These vibrations are called hado by Dr. Emoto.
Hado translates as “wave motions” or “vibrations.”

For example, listening to “The Moldau” by Bedrich Smetana can reduce irritability and energize the lymphatic tissues of the body. Dr. Emoto attributes this to the hado in the music that can cancel out the hado of irritability. The music also resonates with the hado of lymphatic system. Other examples include
listening to “The Blue Danube” by Johann Strauss II will revitalize your central nervous system, while listening to the opera “Lohengrin” by Richard Wagner will remove the hado of self-pity from your thoughts.

In all, Dr. Emoto and his research and findings on how music affects water has profound implications for us and the role music plays in our lives.

The Amazing Effects of Music on the Mind

What was the last song you listened to? There is a reason you were so drawn to listen to it. It might have put you in a great mood or eased your worry. It might have brought back memories from days gone
by.

Understanding the effects music can have on your mind can help you make the conscious decision to listen to music a part of your daily life for its incredibly beneficial effects!

brainmusicWhat Can Music Do for You?

Listening to music can help you remember
your first kiss. It can motivate you to keep on going. It can calm you down after a long, hard day. There are so many wonderful things music can do for you! It’s absolutely fascinating to understood why it has such an impact – and what you need to be doing to take advantage of that fact.

How Does Music Affect Our Body and Brain?

Music appears to be processed in the right hemisphere of the brain. The way we experience music also affects our nervous system.

There are different neurons that respond according to what kind of music is playing. Music can effect hormones, encourage the production of cortisol, testosterone, and oxytocin. Music can even trigger a release of endorphins.

Beyond the biology and the actual responses of your body, there are definite responses of the mind as well. You’re aware of how you feel when you listen to music, but how do you know that it’s actually having any sort of effect on you? There is scientific evidence of the way it can affect your mind! It’s clearly more than
just a suspicion – it’s fact!

The most famous experiment related to this is probably the one that was performed at the University of California at Irvine. College students were assigned to three different groups. The first group listened to Mozart’s sonata for Two Pianos in D Major. The second group listened to a relaxation tape. The third
group listened to nothing at all.

After listening, they took a Stanford-Beinet reasoning test. The results were clear – those who had listened to Mozart had improved scores!

Music Can Improve Memory

Therefore, it’s thought that music has the most effect on the part of the brain that deals with memory. Unfortunately, the effects were not found to be long-lasting. Still, there is nothing wrong with getting a consistent music boost to improve your memory, mood, and sense of well-being over all!

Interestingly enough, music even seems to have a positive effect on the memories of those who are suffering from Alzheimer’s. In some cases, music can help these people remember things and events they had long forgotten. This is an amazing gift for many Alzheimer’s patients!

Why Does This Work?

You might be wondering why this works the way it does. Dr. Alfred A Tomatis theorized that it’s because music (specifically that of Mozart) helps to retrain the brain, in a sense. The different frequencies can help to ‘exercise’ the brain and provide great benefits.

Many people use music to achieve different states of mind as well. Playing a cheerful song at the end of a long day can go a long way toward improving your mood. Playing mellowing music can help you get to sleep at night. Playing upbeat music can help you get into the right mood to go out and have fun with your friends.
Classical music is the most beloved among those who subscribe to musical therapy. It has a variety of positive uses, including increasing focus, and, as we discussed above, memory.

It’s all well and good to understand that music can have amazing effects on your life. However, it’s important to start making a conscious effort to include music every day. There are specific types of music that can help you achieve whatever state you might need to be in. You can become more creative, enter into a meditative state, relax – whatever you want!

The science is there, and you’ve seen it yourself. It doesn’t matter how old you are, where you are in your life right now, or what you want to achieve, the power of music can help you get there.

Long Term Effects

Many musical therapy experts recommend making music a part of your daily life, because its effects can improve with time. There is evidence that, over time, your language skills, creativity, happiness, and more, can improve with regular musical therapy.

There are even some incredible effects that can come along with playing a musical instrument, if you’re inclined to do that!

Whether you’re listening to music or playing it, you can consider it to be like exercise for the brain — only, much more pleasant! It will have great benefits right away and the benefits will only increase over time.

Sure, you might listen to music already, you might even find that you gravitate toward it. However, by seeking out specific types of music, you can see more desirable effects. By consistently seeking out the right kind of music, you can see incredible effects over time.

The great thing about this is that you can get started today. Music isn’t something that will take up your time — it’s something you can focus on or just have in the background. Having calming music playing more consistently will completely change your life for the better. Mind music is one of the easiest changes you can make for positive effects in your life!

The effects of music on the mind are absolutely incredible. Whether you listen to music for meditation, relaxing sounds, Mozart music, or something else altogether, there is something out there for you. There is a reason so many experts in the world practice and recommend music therapy — it’s because it is something
you truly can’t go wrong with.

Do what you can to start investigating its effects on your own life today. The music of Mozart is a great place to start. There are other options available, depending on what your goals are. Soon, you’ll start to gain an even deeper appreciation for all of the wonderful things music can bring into your life.
